The GP-34 40 mm underbarrel grenade launcher was designed to improve the combat capabilities of individual servicemen and units of the Russian Armed Forces, as well as special operations law enforcement units.

The grenade launcher makes it possible to engage enemy personnel and unarmored vehicles with fragmentation and thermobaric grenades at ranges of up to 400 meters.

Non-lethal, illuminating and signaling grenades also can be used.

Traditionally for its class, the GP-34 underbarrel grenade launcher is muzzle-loaded, which assures a high rate of fire and easy loading and unloading.

The grenade launcher is equipped with a safety mechanism that prevents fire when it is installed improperly.

The GP-34 can be mounted on all modern types of Kalashnikov rifles with 415-mm barrels, as well as on some foreign models.

It uses all types of grenades based on the VOG-25 40 mm caseless grenade design, including fragmentation, smoke, thermobaric, signaling and gas (non-lethal) versions.
